Skyline Cirque

Ben and Katie graduated from Tisch at NYU for directing and experimental theater, where they first met and began their performative partnership. After practicing dance, choreography and circus arts their whole lives, their passion for developing new and innovative movement has brought them to Edinburgh, Shanghai, Thailand and Costa Rica. Beginning their collaboration with an acrobatic guerrilla street performance at the Lower East Side Amphitheater in 2007, the duo has most recently taken to the air. With choreographic innovation they infuse their aerial duets with a strongly visceral performance style. Ben and Katie emphasize the inherent dangerous beauty of silks to achieve acts that transcend the circus and achieve a vibrant theatricality.

“In a ballsy move, this movement group (.0.) is squatting in a rundown concrete amphitheatre on the east river.
The performance is driven by angular shapes and booming drums. The dancers’ expression and energy throughout the performance communicate in a beautifully simple way. Framed by a number of simple storylines, the dancers elegantly explore the decrepit, hard space and build shadows and shapes creating hauntingly stunning images.
