Boston Tattoo Convention Contest Rules
- First and foremost, we do our best to ensure that our judges are impartial and consider all entries fairly and carefully. The opinions of the judges are their own and no judges will vote on work performed by themselves or artists who work with or for them.
- Judging is Blind. The judges do not know who performed the tattoo until after the decision is made.
- Entrance fee for each contest is $10.00 Winning artists will receive a trophy and a bottle of Sailor Jerry Rum. Winning Collectors will receive a plaque and a bottle of Sailor Jerry Rum. You must be at least 21 years old to win the Sailor Jerry’s but anyone can enter to win a trophy.
- All tattoos entered into the contest must be performed by artists in attendance at the convention.
- Both the tattoo artist and collector must be present to receive their trophies. Trophies awarded to artists not in attendance will be awarded to the runner up.
- All submissions to the category of “Best Cover Up” must include a clear, publishable “before” photograph.
- A photographer from Tattoo magazine and International Tattoo will be present to photograph contest winners and participants. The BTC reserves the right to publish these photographs for promotion and documentation, etc.
