As 2011 concluded, we sent the donations collected at the BTC and in the following months to Hope for Japan. We are thrilled to announce that we collected a total of $1,445! Every single dollar made a difference to those in Japan still recovering from the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis that occurred in March of 2011.

The largest and warmest thanks goes out to: Ruben, Sky, and Ellen of Chameleon Body Arts. Mary Kaplan, Wayne, Katie Shea, Luke Welling, Abbey O’Brien, Jon Blass, Christopher Smith, Tia Cunha, Jason Henriquez, David Lopez, Natan of Witch City Ink & Lightwave Tattoos, the wonderful Jack Mosher, and Jebb of Lightwave Tattoos. And each and every individual who has donated or bought a tee. You are all amazing!

HOPE+ tees are still available at Witch City Ink (186-3 Essex St, Salem, MA). Shirts are $25 each, and 90% of the proceeds go towards Japan disaster relief, and the remaining 10% goes towards disaster relief in the United States. They feature a phoenix design on the front, and a small Boston Tattoo Convention logo on the back.

Happy January! In an effort to help get everyone’s metaphorical ducks in a row, we here at the Boston Tattoo Convention are taking care of business at a rapid pace! For artist, vendor, and attendee’s convenience, we have made it possible for you to reserve your booth, hotel room (at a discounted rate!), AND buy your BTC tickets already.

What’s that, you say? It’s only January, so why you should be concerned about an event that’s happening over Labor Day weekend? Because booths and hotel rooms sold out last year, and we want to give you a chance to reserve yours as soon as possible, without having to worry and scramble at the last minute. And we always recommend buying tickets in advance, as it’s nice to not have to worry about buying at the window.

2012 BTC Artist/Vendor Booths Now on Sale!

Today is the day! 2012 Boston Tattoo Convention booths for artists and vendors are now on sale! Booths did sell out last year, so we strongly advise purchasing yours in advance. Early booth sales go on until June 30th, and until then cost only $700. For the month of July, they’ll be $725.

If you haven’t had a booth at the BTC before, or if you need a little reminder as to how it works, don’t worry! The registration form explains things thoroughly, and you are more than welcome to contact us with any questions that you may have about the process at info@bostontattooconvention.com, or 978.744.9393.

The official dates for the 2012 Boston Tattoo Convention have been set for some time now, and booth and ticket sales will begin very soon!

Artist/Vendor early booth registration begins on December 26th, 2011.
Early booth registration ends June 30th, 2012. We advise reserving your booth in advance as they sold out in 2011. The registration form will be available for download soon, and must be completed and sent to us with your license and info as soon as possible after making your payment. Temporary licenses must be purchased for all attending artists.

Regular booth registration begins July 1st and ends July 31st.

BTC ticket sales will begin on January 1st, 2012. As always, we recommend buying your tickets in advance as well.

The HOPE+ Project Thanks You

HOPE+, our own little piece of Hope for Japan, is still going strong. We are continuing to collect donations, as well as sell tees at Witch City Ink. Thus far we have raised a total of $1320 for the Hope for Japan project, and we’d like to take a moment to thank some of the people who have helped immensely with this success.

We’re still having media pour in from the 2011 BTC. We’ve had quite a few talented photographers send us their stuff. Today we had the pleasure of going through Russ Mezikofsky’s pics, and we’re thrilled to be able to share them with you. Thank you, Russ!

HOPE for Japan Tees Available at Witch City Ink!

You may have seen the HOPE for Japan booth at the BTC, and even though this year’s event has passed, the HOPE mission has not! Six months has passed since the Japan earthquake and tsunami, and news coverage in America has moved on to other things while Japan still fights to rebuild. We here at the BTC may be a half a world away, but we have not forgotten and we still want to help — you can too!

We have HOPE for Japan tees (image above) available for sale at Witch City Ink, located at 186-3 Essex St in Salem, MA. They are $25 each, and 90% of the proceeds go towards Japan disaster relief, and the remaining 10% goes towards disaster relief in the United States. The tees feature a gorgeous phoenix flying towards a red sun with the HOPE logo on the front, with a small BTC logo on the back. Don’t live near Salem? Now that the Boston Tattoo Convention has come and gone, we are basking in the afterglow of a successful 10th event! We hope that you enjoyed the BTC as much as we did — it certainly wouldn’t have been nearly as great without each and every one of you. We’ll be sharing photos and other tidbits with you soon, but for now we simply wanted to extend our sincerest thanks! To the artists, performers, staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and especially YOU. From the bottom of our big ol’ tattooed hearts, thank you, and we hope to see you again next year!
