All body artists providing services (i.e., tattooing, piercing) at the Boston Tattoo Convention must apply for a Temporary Body Art Practitioner License from the Wilmington Board of Health.

  • Required Documents:
    1. Completed Application
    2. Proof that the applicant is 18 years of age (i.e., a valid government-issued photo ID, driver’s license, passport, etc.)
    3. Proof of Immunization for Tetanus and Hepatitis B
    4. Proof of Blood borne pathogen training, First Aid & CPR
    5. Verifiable proof of a supervised program of training for body art being performed with at least 50 hours of live in person work time and hours. Proof of at least 1 year of experience such as a copy of your current body artist license/permit or other proof of professional practice such as a business license or tax certificate
  • $50 permit fee

Only fully licensed Artists and Practitioners should apply for a Temporary Body Art Practitioner License for this event. We do not accept apprentice licenses to tattoo at the BTC.
